Preview: This is the third lesson in a three-lesson arc of the same title. Soldiers of Christ must permit their Captain (Jesus) to choose their strategy and select their armor. Thus equipped, victory is sure.

Scripture Reading: Mark 8:27-33.

Memory Verse: Luke 14:11.

1. Did Peter dispute the Master’s Word? Matthew 16:22.
2. How did Jesus reply? Matthew 16:23.
3. What did Jesus tell His disciples they would do? Matthew 26:31.
4. How did Peter reply? Matthew 26:33.
5. Did Jesus become more specific? Matthew 26:34.
6. Were the disciples convinced? Matthew 26:35.
Note: How easy it is to do just as the disciples did at that time. When God tells us what to do, or what not to do, and we are unwilling to obey, we are resisting His will. That unwillingness in His disciples did not please Jesus and our rebellion today does not please Him. The disciples did not believe Jesus’ Word. When we do not obey, it is because of unbelief too.
7. What did Jesus say must happen to us before we can enter the Kingdom of Heaven? Matthew 18:2-4.
Note: Webster defines humble as: Not proud or haughty; Not arrogant or assertive.
8. How must we walk as soldiers for Christ? Ephesians 5:8.
9. How must we run? Hebrews 12:1.
10. How must we fight? I Timothy 6:12.
11. How must we be armed? Romans 13:12-14.
12. What will the armor enable us to do? Ephesians 6:11.
13. What are we fighting against? Ephesians 6:12.
14. What are the various things that make up our armor? Ephesians 6:13-18.
