To the Righteous Everything Must Be Pure

Preview: God’s people must be a living example to all those around them. Living a godly life is a part of being a Christian, and holding yourself to a standard of purity is expected.


Scripture Reading: Ephesians 5:1-10.

Memory Verse: Ephesians 5:11.

1. What promise did Christ make to the pure in heart? Matthew 5:8.
2. Can we remain pure if we let our minds dwell on evil things? Explain. Matthew 5:27-28.
3. What reward can we expect if we are carnally minded? Romans 8:6.
4. How does the carnal mind respond to God and His Laws? Romans 8:7.
5. What advice did Paul give to Timothy? I Timothy 5:22, II Timothy 2:22.
6. Should young Christians give the world an example in purity? Why? I Timothy 4:12.
7. How did Paul describe the works of the flesh? Galatians 5:19-21.
8. Why should we keep our words, deeds, and thoughts pure? Ephesians 5:1-5.
Note: No impure person will meet Christ in peace. Only those who are pure will hear His welcome voice. God commands both the young and the aged to be pure.

10. Why should we keep our conversations pure? Ephesians 4:29.
11. Did Paul tell us how to keep our thoughts pure? What did he say? Philippians 4:6-9.
Note: It is difficult for us to be different from that which we dwell with and meditate upon. Keeping our hearts pure requires us to use our minds, eyes, ears, tongues, hands, and feet for instruments of righteousness. The world offers many ungodly things which purity demands us to reject.
