Joys of Following Christ

Preview: True service to our Lord brings with it great joy and peace. This lesson contains many examples of this.


Scripture Reading: Luke 5:1-11.

Memory Verse: John 14:27.

1.What is included in the fruits of the Spirit? Galatians 5:22.
2. How did Jeremiah feel about the Word of God? Jeremiah 15:16.
3. What did Jesus see of joy beyond this world? Hebrews 12:2.
4. How did Paul want to finish his course? Acts 20:24.
Note: Paul didn’t want anything to move him from the love of Christ so that he could finish his course with joy. Many times people start out for Christ and then let the things of this world come in and take the joy they could have if they would only follow Christ and endure to the end.
5. How did Jesus comfort His disciples before His crucifixion? John 16:20.
6. What great promise did Jesus make to His followers? John 16:23-24.
7. If we sow in tears how shall we reap? Psalm 126:5-6.
Note: Regardless of life’s circumstances, regardless of the heartbreaking experiences which sometimes come to us, we can experience a deep and wondrous joy through Christ’s love. The more time we spend in prayer and the more we give of ourselves in unselfish service, the greater will be our happiness in following Christ.
